I was one of those kids that imagined my twenties in a glamorous office wearing pencil skirts and heels every day. My weekends would be filled with VIP tables at bars and brunch with my girlfriends. Oh and the shopping, so much shopping would take place. In my dreams I was a cross between Lauren Conrad and Serena Van Der Woodsen.
Fast forward to now and huge shock, I'm not that person.
Anyway, after a short dinner and drinks with a BFF on friday night I arrived to my boyfriends to be greeted with the question "what do you want to do?" my response was one that flew out with zero hesitation- "nothing."
Friday night included some tea and puppy snuggles with a side of NHL draft and extra comfy sweatpants. It also brought all of the warm and fuzzies when my two favorite guys both wrapped their arms (paws) around me to reassure me that my LONG week was over. Phew. See ya never, bitch.
Saturday, again, all I wanted to do was nothing. After sleeping in, I forced myself to get up for a yoga class as I promised myself. Obviously a hard yoga class called for a donut and Gossip girl on Netflix. Ordering a pizza and watching two movies on the couch capped off my day and I couldn't have been happier.
Fast forward to Sunday night and while the Sunday blues were present, I felt relaxed and happy to have had a weekend filled with so much relaxing and happiness but ultimately a whole lot of nothing.
It's funny how things tend to change. How life can take hold of you and beat you up until your bed ridden pretending to be a teenage girl with no cares in the world. More than anything, this weekend was a little recharge period and I'm ready to take on the world.
This is fourth of July weekend is for the weekend bars and brunches. Here goes nothing!
"A cross between Lauren Conrad and Serena Vanderwoodson" I LOVE IT
